About

I bang out custom, on-demand poems on vintage typewriters. Also, I'm a giant fox.

I write for all occasions and ages -- from public festivals to private parties, from corporate and work gatherings to school events, from streetcorners to dive bars and everything and everyone in between.

Book the Poetry Fox for an event or commission a special poem, and your guests, clients, friends, and family get a unique, personal, handmade work that they'll treasure!

PRESS

Michigan Live profiled my project at ArtPrize in 2017, "The Language is Asleep," of which a daily Poetry Fox performance was a part.

The News & Observer also wrote about my ArtPrize project. Thanks, David Menconi!

The Daily Tar Heel, UNC-Chapel Hill's student paper, profiled me in 2015. Thanks, Gwendolyn Smith and Emily Yue!

NC State's student paper, the Technician, profiled me in 2016. Thanks, Laurie Howard!

Nina Riggs, visiting the Duke Cancer Center for an oncology appointment, got a poem from me on the center's Spa Day, and blogged very eloquently about it. She turned that post into a passage in her remarkable memoir "The Bright Hour: A Memoir of Living and Dying," which was published shortly before her death in February 2017. See you on the other side, Nina.

Shana Draugelis, founder of The Mom Edit blog, wrote about her sons getting a fox poem at ArtPrize in 2017.

Durham, NC City Council member -- and good friend! -- Charlie Reece asked the fox to a council session to read a poem I wrote about Durham in 2017.
